Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and lightly grease an 8-inch (20-cm) square baking dish.
  • In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
  • Stir in the sugar, cocoa powder, and salt until the mixture is smooth and shiny.
  • Remove the saucepan from the heat and set aside for a few minutes to cool.
  • Mix in the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, until thoroughly combined.
  • Stir in the flour until the mixture is smooth.
  • Smooth the surface of the batter with a spatula after pouring it into the prepared baking dish.
  • Arrange the whole almonds on top of the batter and gently press them in.
  • 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the centre comes out clean.
  • Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
